  • June 8, Monday Fly from Albuquerque to Chicago to Amman, arrive in Amman June 9
  • June 9, Tuesday Evening assignment of rooms, dinner, and orientation to living arrangements
  • June 10, Wednesday Orientation to the dig project and assignments
  • June 11, Thursday Dig assignments
  • June 12, Friday Dig assignments; 6:30 p.m. visit Mount Nebo for evening worship
  • June 13, Sabbath Free morning; 1:00 p.m. visit Amman Citadel and Roman Theatre
  • June 14, Sunday Free morning; 11:00 p.m. visit Jerash
  • June 15, Monday Dig assignments
  • June 16, Tuesday Dig assignments
  • June 17, Wednesday Dig assignments
  • June 18, Thursday Dig assignments
  • June 19, Friday Travel King’s Highway to Petra (visit Hesban, Dibon, etc.)
  • June 20, Sabbath “Hiking Petra”
  • June 21, Sunday “Hiking Petra;” 1:00 p.m. leaving for Amman
  • June 22, Monday Dig assignments
  • June 23, Tuesday Dig assignment
  • June 24, Wednesday Dig assignments
  • June 25, Thursday Leave Jordan for Israel, visit Jericho and Qumran
  • June 26, Friday Visit Philistine and Israelite Cities: Beth Shemesh, Lachish, Gath, Ashkelon, Ekron; (return to our hotel in time for a walk to the temple foundation [Western (Wailing) Wall]
  • June 27, Sabbath Morning: walk to the Mount of Olives for a worship service; afternoon: walking tour of Jerusalem
  • June 28, Sunday Walking tour of Jerusalem, including Hezekiah’s Tunnel
  • June 29, Monday Travel to Galilee (baptismal service at the Jordan River on the way). Visit Capernaum, and sleep in Nazareth
  • June 30, Tuesday Visit Megiddo, Mount Carmel, Tel Dor, and return to Jerusalem
  • July 1, Wednesday Free day in Jerusalem
  • July 2, Thursday Visit En Gedi and Dead Sea; 1 p.m. return to Jordan
  • July 3, Friday Bus trip to Aqaba and catch a ferry to Sinai; Hotel near Mount Sinai
  • July 4, Sabbath Rise early (2 a.m.) climb traditional Mount Sinai before sunrise; visit St. Catherine’s monastery; 1 p.m. travel to Cairo
  • July 5, Sunday Visit Cairo museum and Khan al-Khalili (shopping bazaar)
  • July 6, Monday Visit pyramids and Sakkara evening flight to Amman
  • July 7, Tuesday Amman to Chicago
